CrabSMP ("we", "us", "our") operates the Minecraft server network at play.crabsmp.net and the website at crabsmp.net. The server is owned and managed by the CrabSMP team, led by Ozorical.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit our website, join our Minecraft server, or interact with our community, and how we use it.

Data We Collect

We collect limited data necessary to operate the server and improve the experience:

When you visit this website

• IP address — logged temporarily by our web host for security and abuse prevention.
• Browser & device info — standard web server logs (user agent, page requests, referrer). Not linked to your identity.
• Voluntary form data — if you submit a contact form or join a mailing list, we store your email address.

When you play on CrabSMP

• Minecraft username & UUID — required to identify your account and save game progress.
• IP address — logged on connection for moderation and ban enforcement.
• In-game activity — chat logs, inventory, economy transactions, and playtime. Used to prevent cheating and resolve disputes.
• Purchase records — if you buy a rank or token bundle, the transaction reference and the rank granted are stored. Payment card details are never handled by us (see Third-Party Services).

When you join our Discord

Discord's own Privacy Policy governs data collected through their platform. We do not export or store Discord member data separately.

How We Use Your Data

• To run and maintain the Minecraft server and website.
• To enforce our rules and handle moderation actions (bans, mutes, appeals).
• To deliver purchased items (ranks, tokens) to your account.
• To send service-related emails (e.g., store updates) if you opted in.
• To investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats.
• To improve server performance and fix bugs.

We do not sell your data, serve targeted advertisements, or use your data for automated profiling.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share limited data in the following circumstances:

• Service providers — hosting companies and payment processors that help us operate (bound by data processing agreements).
• Legal obligations — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of CrabSMP and its players.
• Moderation networks — shared ban lists (Minecraft username / UUID only) with partner networks to protect the community.

Cookies & Tracking

This website uses no third-party tracking cookies and no analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics) that profile you across the web.

We may set a basic session cookie to remember preferences (e.g., if you dismiss a notification banner). This cookie contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.

The Discord widget embedded on the homepage may set cookies from Discord. You can disable these in your browser settings.

Data Retention

• Server logs (IP, connection data) — retained for up to 90 days, then deleted.
• In-game data (username, inventory, economy) — retained for the lifetime of your account. Deleted upon written request (see Your Rights).
• Purchase records — retained for 7 years for financial and legal compliance.
• Email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
• Ban / moderation records — retained indefinitely for community safety.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your data (subject to our retention obligations).

Children's Privacy

CrabSMP is a Minecraft server. We recognise that many of our players may be under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information beyond what is described in this policy, and we do not display targeted advertising to any user.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
